Open to all Springfield area middle and high school students, we hope our Memorial Day Youth Essay Contest will inspire young people in our community to learn more about the true meaning of this special day. Youth Essay Contest & Awards Ceremony

Monday, May 30, 2016

The winners of Klingner-Cope's inaugural Youth Essay Contest will be recognized during the annual Memorial Day Remembrance. Titled "The True Meaning of Memorial Day," each essay submission was reviewed by a committee that selected the six winners who will share cash prizes totaling $1,600. All Greene County area middle and high school students were invited to participate, and submissions were accepted at the funeral from through the entire month of April. The contest's purpose was to inspire youths in our community to learn more about this important holiday.
